
Tessah Latson, a dedicated member of Sol Housing’s Board of Directors and passed away on January 21, 2025. She was a cherished friend and dedicated board member whose unwavering commitment to Sol Housing left an indelible mark on our community. As Vice President of the Board, and previously as President, Tessah exemplified what it means to be a passionate advocate for our mission, tirelessly championing the cause of low to moderate-income families and individuals in Albuquerque. Her warmth and community spirit were a beacon of hope, inspiring all of us to strive for inclusivity and social equity. While we feel an immense loss in her absence, let us honor Tessah's legacy by continuing the vital work she so fervently believed in. Together, we can carry forward her vision and dedication, ensuring that her impact resonates within our community for years to come. We invite everyone to unite in support of Sol Housing's mission, as we celebrate Tessah's life and the profound difference she made in the lives of many.
Formerly known as the Building a Better Albuquerque Scholarship, The Tessah Latson Memorial Scholarship fund provides financial assistance to teens, young adults, and non-traditional students living in and around the communities we serve. This scholarship can be applied to any type of post-secondary education, including community college, trade school, and licensures. Award amount is $500.
Scholarship applications open April 15 and are due no later than July 15 with awards distributed in August. Award recipients will be asked to provide a photo and brief bio to be featured on Sol Housing's website.
